Latur is a well-known business city. Before 50 years, very few schools were available to provide education here. Educational facility after matriculation was not available — students had to travel to Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, and Aurangabad for higher education. Only wealthy families could afford such education.

The visionary and education-loving people of Latur came together and decided to start a college. In 1961, the foundation of Dayanand Education Society was laid for the students of Latur district. In a few years, Dayanand College came forward as a reputed institution — student strength grew day by day.

As per the needs of time, an independent Commerce College was established in 1970. Expert teachers and visionary dignitaries worked hard to make the college well-renowned across the state. The merit of the college is touching new heights every year.

Dayanand College of Commerce is a leading institution of education in commerce. It is the unique independent college of commerce in the entire Marathwada region. Our college fulfills the educational needs of rural as well as urban students. We offer education in both English and Marathi medium.

The college has set up a unique Business Lab that keeps students active through activities and experiments throughout the year, keeping them in touch with the practical aspects of commerce. We are proud to say that the majority of Chartered Accountants and entrepreneurs of our district are students of our college.

The college is an authorized centre of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for CA examinations. We have one aided and three non-aided and two self-finance divisions at F.Y.J.C and S.Y.J.C. The college also has optional vocational subjects — Banking and SISE — for junior college students.
